The sylph are by and large a xenophobic race, and suffer as little contact with erjan society as they can manage. Guard units, dispatched from their network of outposts encircling the region of Llyri, patrol the desolate cliffs in search of erjan incursion. Tensions are often high when these patrols meet with travelers coming to and from Amnu, and the language barrier can inadvertently escalate these situations further.

In recent years, both the Llyran Guard and Astral Templar have piloted curriculum to help teach their ranks basic erjan, but few have shown an earnest interest in learning the complexities of a language they often see as beneath their concern.
