Water and wind are utilized commonly in mills, and the sylph—while not fully understanding the intricacies of the technology—employ salvaged batteries to power the Templar armour’s portable ash filter. However, by and large, the concept of combustion remains obscure but to a few, and perhaps none moreso than the suneaters, who are said to have conquered this technology to produce all manner of fantastic device; from vehicles, enabling swift traversal of Erj’s unforgiving terrain, to weapons, facilitating expeditious hunts of game.
It is believed that it was through rogue suneaters, having abandoned their tribes to join the Ybric cults, that the thralls of Ybris also acquired combustion; their deeply reckless application of the technology, more than any other weapon, makes them a larger threat than ever before.
