The average denizen of Erj believes a thrall of Ybris to be little more than an unthinking vessel through which pandemonium is effected.
Those who hold this belief can hardly be blamed; a given encounter with one or more thralls is historically almost certain to result in at least as many deaths. However, in recent years, Nulspire has taken a particular interest in thrall culture, and the institution has sent its sages on expeditions throughout Erj to research and gather data. Those who have thus far returned alive have helped to paint of thralls a far more complex portrait than that of the mindless, feral wraith known to most.
