RS200

A view of Imbra Ridge outpost, a sylph resupply station. Scientists mill about the barren scrub, and Templar perform maintenance upon their vehicles and armour.

One of these Templar—VEC—is helping to repair a sylph supply carriage's central floodlight. A mask covers his face, to defend himself from the dust and ash.

VEC

You're joking, right?

Rampart Nif JiFeng. Really??

Try it now.

A voice from above answers.

No.

Vec pulls off his mask, that he might better complain.

VEC

Is that 'no' as in it didn't work?

Or 'no' as in you refuse to try it now?

Hel, revealed to be sitting atop the supply carriage, reaches for a screwdriver, as she too attempts to repair the floodlight.

VEC

Or 'no' as in yes, not really Nif?

He pauses, waiting for Hel to choose.

VEC

Hel?

HEL

Nif's been killing it this season.

VEC

Sure, but Interwaste Champion?

He's not even cute.

HEL [to herself]

Cute.

Hel leans into the floodlight's casing to inspect the filament more closely.

HEL

Cute's no match for the Starfall Suplex.

You're sure you installed this the right way around.

VEC [offended]

What, do I look eidolan to you?

Upon closer inspection, Hel believes she's found the issue. Vec continues to piss and moan.

VEC

I guess I'll go get another battery?

HEL

We've already tried two. Filament's just been burnt out.

VEC

I have no idea what you're talking about.

HEL

I told you not to play with the switch.

VEC

...Sorry.

It's so clicky.

RS200

The sylph maintain a number of outposts along Llyri's regional borders with neighbouring Amnu and Odashq. Though more resupply points than barracks, they are nevertheless used by the Astral Templar and Llyran Guard to keep aware of all traffic entering what the sylph view as strictly their territory—whether the claim is founded or not.

Most sylph outposts are identifiable by their unique spiral shape. The structures are airtight, and entered via an airlock fitted with a battery-powered filter, much like those found in Templar Armour, with one infamous difference: this filter uses powerful blasts of air to remove stray ash from a prospective entrant before ingress. These blasts are very abrupt and often startling to those who have never entered an outpost. Falling over one's first time in an outpost airlock is considered a rite of passage in each of Llyri's two forces, and some Templar even believe failure to do so is bad luck.
