RS203

The common area is littered with signs of life; games, posters, mini figurines, potted plants. Against the wall, Zyr sits on a bench while he continues to stare at his unsolved cube. Sil makes her way to the table, a bowl of spicecakes in hand.

Sil

Hey, so--

You know Erjan stuff. What's that... er.

Like a gang? With crimes. The one in Ras Huran.

She shakes a spicecake in Zyr's face.

Zyr

The Third Hand.

Sil

YEAH!

Do you think they could've taken her?

Zyr scrunches his brow in response, dubious to Sil's musings as she pulls a chair up to the table.

Zyr

What would a criminal organization possibly need with an Astral Templar?

Sil

You mean besides the hundreds of thousands of pipes' worth of moonstone she was wearing?

Hel [out of view]

Maybe her positive attitude.

Hel barrels her way into the room and conversation through the airlock door, much to Sil's annoyance. Vec follows close behind.

Hel

Zyr.

Someone approaching. Need you to translate.

Sil

Um, excuse me?

Is there a magic word you'd like to add?

Hel is unmoved by the abmonishment.

Hel

Quick.

Sil glares in Hel's direction as Zyr rises from his seat. His eyes drop to the cube.

Zyr

It's okay, Sil.

I'm happy to, uh... get some fresh air.

Aghast and crowding up against Hel's back, Vec flaps a hand at the habitat's floor.

Vec

Oh, for--

Can we watch the DUST?

I just swept this morning!

RS203

Ingress to a sylph outpost is achieved through a small airlock between the hangar and living quarters. The purpose of this space is to remove stray ash particles which may remain after doffing Astral Templar armour or other scientific gear, and the mechanism by which this is accomplished is, of course, superior Llyran pipesmithing.

Sylph structures are engineered 'pipes-first' to ensure natural airflow that circulates old air out while letting in new, filtered air. While these passive systems are sufficient for most buildings within Llyri's breathable perimeter, isolated wastebound structures such as outposts are required to be ash-free as a matter of life and death, and thus airlocks leverage the same battery-powered ventilation technology as Templar armour to provide a fan-powered boost to the circulation process. The resulting rush of air more often than not knocks first-time users from their feet.
