Zyr positions himself between the guard and Ro. One hand holds her back as she brandishes her unsheathed knife, the other waving in apology to the guards. They stand at the ready, pikes in hands, as Zyr tries to translate.

Guard

What's she sayin' now?

Zyr

No. No, she is... misunderstand.

Ro

What are you telling him?

Zyr

I'm telling him you're a big pain in the--

Guard

Look, I just told you, we ain't openin' the gate before sunrise.

Zyr

Yes, I. Yes, good remember I have.

Ro

Did he just call me what I think he did?

Zyr

Will you please just cool it?

Guard

Don't matter if you're the king of Navi Yanu. You want in, you wait.

Zyr

Okay. Yes, is. Okay.

Ro

This guy's starting to get on my nerves.

Bowing as he backs away from the guard, Zyr shoves Ro behind him.

Zyr

Alright.

Come on, knife down, let's go.

Zyr

Thank-- for... sorry.

Good morning. Please,

Zyr continues to push Ro across the bridge toward the waiting sylph caravan.

Ro

Your Erjan sounds really good.

Zyr

Just... keep walking.

An Astral Templar’s moonstone armour is among the most formidable means of individual protection in Erj. Resistant to near-invincibility against melee and projectile weapons alike, most Templar enjoy a certain extra confidence in battle. So long, of course, as they are facing their opponent. The weakness of Templar armour is its ash filtration system, which purifies inhaled air, allowing sylph to breathe freely outside of their home territory. This system—connected directly to to the wearer’s sternum—filters ash out of air as it is breathed, ejecting it through a large fan mounted in the rear. Though this fan is sturdy in its own right, it presents a prized target to a Templar’s adversary—should it be damaged or destroyed, the Templar has mere minutes before total asphyxiation.
