RS030

It's morning in Ras Huran. As the sun breaks over the city's open gates, its inhabitants are already bustling in their daily routines. Vendors set up their stalls. The city's custodians chip away at ash buildup. Fishermen hoist nets of the day's first catch out of the harbor. And Qebrus secures knots in ropes around his cuffs.

The wall of Ras Huran is in modern times mostly symbolic. With large-scale organized conflict presently a non-issue, the wall is grossly overqualified to repel such meager threats as thrall raiding parties. Indeed, there are rarely even a dozen guardsmen keeping the night watch. However, though Ras Huran’s wall may be a relic of the past, it is hardly the oldest in Erj—the great Bastions of Navi Yanu, Navi Qisa, and Navi Xase are inestimably ancient, baffling even the most skilled erjan and sylph archaeologists.
