The cartographer credited with having first mapped all of Erj is Uatio of Nulspire, an erjan sage who purportedly spent decades travelling to the corners of the world—and braving the dangers therein—to create the standard projection used today by erjan, sylph, and suneater alike.
The question of whether or not Uatio truly undertook this quest on his own has never been unequivocally answered. Little is known of the man himself, but what survives of his work would seem to indicate that he could have been more than 60 years old when he began—an advanced age for even a healthy erjan to undertake such a monumental errand.
Nevertheless, Uatio’s map, to the extent that adventurers have dared to test it, has always proved impressively accurate, and very few major corrections have ever needed to be made.
