For all the apparent technological advantage the sylph maintain over the other races of Erj, it is exactly that: merely apparent. The recovered batteries that power sylph ash filters and the impossibly durable moonstone out of which many sylph implements are constructed—while used to great effect—are poorly understood by the sylph, and they are unable to replicate them, making their supply effectively finite.
The suneaters, however, are another story. Possessing a peerless aptitude for engineering and manufacture, suneaters routinely make technological strides with naught but what basic materials—at least, by sylph standards—they find around them. One can only wonder what breakthroughs could be made if the two races would work together; for now, neither seems terribly interested in the idea.
