A side effect of a suneaters’ enumeration of time in mere days is that his or her age appears, as a number, to be monstrously high. That the other Erjan races use years to count age, coupled with the intentional cloak of mystique surrounding suneater culture, has supported the perpetuation of a popular myth that suneaters are extremely long-lived.

While, like sylph, suneaters tend to outlive their erjan counterparts, the gap is not a fraction as wide as is commonly believed.
