It is evident that eidolans are near-uniformly well endowed in terms of physique, as well as corresponding strength. Myths abound regarding why this is so, and untested prejudice is not the only reason they do—tested prejudice also plays a part. Specifically, there appear to be no verifiable records of an eidolan ever having been bested—let alone slain—in physical combat.
While arena games, in which eidolan fighters are commonly cast as villains, regularly see them ‘defeated’ by one or more erjans playing the role of valiant hero, the degree to which these contests are ‘real’ remains in dispute.
