While a solid argument can be made that the sylph are the most technologically advanced of the Erjan races—largely by way of materials scavenged from their copious archeological expeditions—they are also a theocracy and, as such, the average Llyran citizen is neither a strong nor curious reader.
Despite this, or perhaps because of it, the Celestial Heritage Conservatory does little to police the literature available to Llyri’s populace, and an entire industry has been established to translate erjan books into sylph. Whole genres are dominated by these translated erjan works, particularly those in fiction—an area sorely underserved by sylph authors.
