It is a common myth throughout Erj that Thralls of Ybris are themselves a distinct, monstrous species, and many an erjan child is kept within parentally-defined boundaries by a fear they may be spirited away, should they stray too far afield.
The truth is more mundane, if not less threatening: that the thralls are a loosely organized cult of anarchic erjan, suneater, eidola, and even—on particularly rare occassion—sylph, who for one reason or another worship Ybris’ nihility and desire to aid in ensuring her contract with Nyue continues unimpeded, that all things which exist are ultimately returned to the void. This aid is rendered through the indiscriminate annihilation of whatever crosses their path.
